Supported by
a modern management, who prioritizes high technology and product
excellence, Imaribo Group plays an active role in the social
and economic development of the areas where it operates. See
the programs of social incentive in which the Company participates:
• Private education for children from pre-school to
college, funding all expenses like tuition, uniform and material
so as to assure the formation of the future local workforce;
• Implantation of forest improvement plans in small
farms, using idle land, thus promoting a monthly income compatible
to small farmers’ needs. In the benefited areas, the
plans have greatly contributed to reducing the rural exodus
thus preventing the increase of poverty in big cities;
• Support to the Military Police’s Education
and Drug Fight Program – PROERD – for grade school
students;
• Incentive to workers’ participation in Solidarity
Campaign to help local communities;
• Donation of paper for public students and teachers
where facilities are located;
• Partnerships with local municipalities to build more
schools and to support the existing ones;
• Agreement with job agency in Piraí do Sul
for community labor force training and professional placement;
• Donation of recycled plastic to the home for girls
Oricena Vergas, in Piraí do Sul, maintained by the
Salvation Army;
• Donation of surplus crop from the organic farming
in Iguaçu manufacturing area to charity institutions
in Piraí do Sul;
• Supply of pine logs for the municipalities of Castro
and Piraí do Sul to build low-cost homes for needy
people;
• Sponsorship of cultural events targeted to local
communities;
• Sponsorship of the sports project Karatê Piá,
engaging 60 students - 7 to 17 years - from public schools
in Piraí do Sul;
• Partnership with APAE – Association of parents
and friends of mentally retarded children – to fund
events to raise money for a special school called Porta da
Esperança. Imaribo Group also contributes to efforts
like the regional festival Nossa Arte, the charity Feijoada,
the national week for the mentally retarded and charity fairs.
The 19-year-old school has 103 students with learning impairment.
It provides people from 0 to 45 years of age with support
for mental, physical, social and psychological habilitation
and rehabilitation.
